May 14 is Pi Day, and Ms. Piazza, being a math teacher, takes it quite seriously.
Her annual event is the big-ass Pi Chain. We basically make a huge paper chain with all different colors of paper. Each color represents a digit of pi, and we see how long we can make the chain. This year we got to 1,130 digits, which stretches all the way from Mr. Shah’s room to D pod, which is I’m guessing a good 60-something feet. Which is quite impressive. And someone got a paper cut and bled onto digit number 734 or something, so now you can say we literally poured our sweat and blood into building it.
AND we got oatmeal cream pies. Suck it.
